SATURDAY MORNINGS WITH THE PENINSULA’S FINEST!

See you here every Saturday till October 12!

The market on the 27th will be absolutely full of regular vendors, along with some exciting new offerings!

FLOUR POWER is away again next week, so we’ll miss Kathy’s baking at the Community Table. but SPELT’S SWEETS will make their market debut with classic Dutch stroopwafels with a handmade touch, offering a taste of tradition and quality. A stroopwafel is a delightful Dutch treat that consists of two thin, crispy waffle cookies sandwiched together with a layer of sweet, gooey caramel syrup.  ABIELLE AMOUR APIARY is back with REALLY local honey (bringing summer soliloquy honey, limited quantities of ambrosia (purple) honey, chocolate honey and creamed honey), and GRASSHOPPER CREATIVE is back with fun and functional pottery with some lovely new products just out of the kiln!  We’re also introducing a new vendor in our HATCH & HYPE tent (this is a BC Assn of Farm Markets initiative to create an opportunity for food vendors to try out the market experience):  SPICE BAE is a small batch hot sauce company in Victoria that focuses on using local ingredients.

We’ll have more exciting new music with THE HAVEN – The Haven is a Sidney based band performing a wide variety of rock, pop, country and folk music from the 60’s to present, as well as some original tunes. The core four band members are: Natalie Foley, vocals and guitar, Peter Bacsalmasi, vocals and lead guitar, Don Carscadden, bass, Keith Bjorndahl, drums.

Growing Home

Items of interest from around the peninsula:

  1. The 1st annual NOBLE GARDEN TREASURE HUNT is on Sunday, July 28th from 1:00-4:00.
In addition to the small treats and treasures to be found in boxes hidden in the orchard there will be several larger treasures for the lucky finder:  LA-Z-BOY FURNITURE GALLERIES in Victoria has donated a $100.00 gift card and a package containing a charcuterie board and Canadel’s “The Art of Dining” book, and MUFFET AND LOUISA has donated a $50.00 gift card.  New donors of smaller treasures include TASTE OF TOKYO in Sidney and NEZZA NATURALS in Victoria (locally made organic products for face, body, hair and home), as well as FLOUR POWER (the exceptional North Saanich baker so well known to customers of the NS Farm Market), and tasty preserves from SARAH’S STAPLES.  All the wonderful donors are listed on the poster!

We’ll also be hosting an open garden for self-tours and picnics on the same day, so whether you plan to indulge your inner child (or your actual one!) with the treasure hunt, or just enjoy the garden and the wonderful music provided by ROSIE AND CORINNE, I hope you’ll come out and support the garden!  Tickets available at the Community Table at the market, or by emailing thenoblegarden1@gmail.com to reserve.  This is a fundraiser for the Noble Garden.
