Flour Power was started 5 years ago by Andrea Walsh and Kathy Scott. Jane Robertson joined Kathy 3 years ago when family and work commitments pulled Andrea away. Kathy and Jane are both keen home bakers and produce an astonishing – and enduringly popular! – variety of baked goods from their home kitchens. (click the vendor name to read more…) For the past 6 years the Flour Power stand has grown in size and variety. Overheard from a gentleman in the lineup waiting his turn at the Flour Power table: “I haven’t seen a bread line this long since the war!”. And the wait is always worth it! We have all studied at the San Francisco Baking Institute and continue our exploration of the world of baking by visiting Patisserie and Boulangerie from Paris to Provence and New York to San Francisco. We take great pleasure in providing delicious, interesting baked goods with only the best of ingredients, using local organic and seasonal products as much as possible.
Strawberry season is in full swing at Flour Power...with a Strawberry Muffin and a rustic French Strawberry Galette. Rhubarb is still looking good so the Rhubarb muffins and scones are still available. There are some raspberries available so you may see a Raspberry tart as well If you are looking for an easy dessert recipe pick up some strawberries or raspberries and then head over to Flour Power to pick up a lemon loaf or an orange ricotta loaf to slice up and serve with the berries and a bit of whipped cream or greek yogurt. With the wonderful selection of cheese from Moonstruck available at the community table you could serve any of them with the Cranberry crisps or the Seedy Crackers...this combination would also make a great hostess gift.
